For a position of strategic importance, we are looking for a Payload Performance System Engineer with experience in performance analysis of electro-optical instruments, to be involved into the staff of an important partner in the aerospace and defence sector that boasts more than 15,000 engineers. Specifically, the resource will be involved as a Payload Performance System Engineer in the Electro-Optical Payload Area and will be assigned to one or more international space programmes. Main activities/ responsibilities: • Create and manage Simulation model relevant to Electro-optical performances (i.e. Radiometric model etc.) • Analysis and understanding of customer requirements. • System requirements definition and flow-down to relevant sub-system/units. • Understanding and Design of electro-optical systems / units. • Preparation of relevant programme documentation compatible with ECSS standard. • Technical interface to relevant technical experts (Mech, Optical, therm, Sw) and with programme stakeholders (internal/external). Main Requirement: • Degree in technical-scientific subjects (Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, Optics, Aerospace, Mechanics). • Basic knowledge of optics. • Basic knowledge of electronics. • SW modelling skills of physical phenomena related to electro-optical instrumentation for the creation of performance simulation models. • Knowledge of simulation SW: MATLAB, Mathcad, Python, ZEMAX, ASAP. • Ability to analyse and process data and images. • Basic knowledge of DOORS. • Multidisciplinary skills to interface the different technical area from System engineer point of view (Mech, Optical, therm, Sw). • Proactive, collaborative, and proactive attitude. • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Nice to have: • Knowledge of the principles of Remote Sensing. • Knowledge of the operating principle of optoelectronic devices (CCD, CMOS, photodiodes, MCT...). • Laboratory experience in the integration, testing and calibration of EO instrumentation. • PhD in a field relevant to the position. Willingness to short business trips in Italy / Europe is required. The position is in TUSCANY (ITALY), for a career development.
